Akesh Costume and Kit
This is intended to be a guide to the general look of the group.

We are predominantly based on a psuedo Persian/Arabian image, think Prince of Persia, Aladdin etc. (We are avoiding any allusions to Islamic culture. If you want inspiration look to pre-islamic cultures such as Hittite, Canaanite, Babylonian, Mesopotamian etc.) This is a fantasy role-play system, however, so it is only a starting base and not set in stone.

Veils and Headdresses
Veils and headdresses are an important part of the Akesh look, they are something that visually ties us together and gives us a noticeable theme/image. There is also the In Character aspect to the veils.

Veiling of Faces
All Akesh have to hide their faces, especially in sunlight and traveling through desert. It is the cultural norm to cover the lower half of your face. Unveiling in sunlight is a very strong stance, something that is done in warfare or to express a serious comment (nothing a normal man would want to see). The Kesh unveil their faces to go to war. It is then that they consider the world may see their true faces. The other times the Kesh unveil their faces is when the sun is set or they are indoors, they often also unveil their faces around friends when in the sunlight but this is much rarer - the veil to the Kesh is very much a political item to be used, as well as a practical one.

Jewellery and Trinkets
In Akesh wood and water are symbols of value, not metal and gems for the later were abundant but the former were in short supply. Wealth is often denoted by the amount of wood you are wearing.
